The Immortality of Words.

The thing is about life, is that eventually everything returns to the ground.

Life is temporary. It's fragile. It's fleeting.

The living do not get the privilege of staying on this Earth. Like shooting stars, we enjoy a brief window of opportunity to burn brightly, but all too soon we are gone. A unique and dazzling burst of raw energy, a chance to show the world what we can truly do, before we fade into darkness.

But here are some things we can leave behind that will never be lost or forgotten.

Some things in life are granted the timeless beauty and grace of immortality. They linger like last breaths, faint whispers of everlasting conviction, long after we have departed this world.

It is our choices, our actions - and above all, our words - that distinguish us, that build memories and create legacies in our brief moments of existence. Whilst our looks fade, our bodies age, our senses fail and our surroundings evolve into a dull blur - it is our words that live on to inspire hope and encourage strength in times of need. Our words become our legacy to all that choose to hear them.

It is our actions that define our purpose and meaning on this planet, marking moments of ignorance to anarchy, or resilience against hardship.

It is our choices that demonstrate our heart, our compassion, or ability to learn and grow and encourage pure, untapped goodness.

But our words are the most powerful of all things. They immortalise our actions and choices in paper and ink, to live on in the minds of all those who read them.

What separates the leaders from the followers is not intelligence, independence, looks or power. No, these things are tools used fool us into a lull of false assurance that our trust is well placed. These things suggest leadership, but none demonstrate ones determination or passion or understanding.

In truth, it is our unyielding desire to impact the world for the better - to depart this Earth having improved it in any way we can - that sets leaders out from the rest.

It is our persistence - despite whatever obstacle or adversity placed in front of us - to make our short time we have to live, count.

To inspire just one person to change for the better, is all it takes to become utterly consumed by the commitment to be a beacon of hope.

Albert Einstein is quoted for the inspirational saying: "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift..." It's strange to think that despite the man dying over 60 years ago, even today I think he couldn't be more right.

Our words are immortal.

Make your legacy one worth reading.

Too much

I would lie on burning coals, scorch my soul, if it spared  your feet from the heat. I'd devote my hectic days, and sleepless nights, to making yours just a little brighter. I would give my every cent, happily spent, to make you smile for a while. All I ask in return is to always feel beautiful, wanted, treasured, and adored. To know, without a single doubt, that I'm yours. Your  one and only, now and always. So tell me, honestly, am I asking for too much?

Sinking Ships

Can somebody please tell me how to fix this sinking ship? Because I'm exhausted. I've given my all to bailing out these frigid waters, fighting against the relentless surge. I waste every breath, every thought, every effort, to confining an endless tide. I cannot stop. But I'll drown out here, cold and alone, if I don't  pause, find the source and fix this broken vessel. So teach me how to plug the gap before it kills me.

Chasing Sunset

Tonight, for whatever reason, I found myself pondering what the hell I was doing... In life, in love, in my job, my personal aspirations, my family and my friends. I wasn't necessarily worrying, or spiralling, or caught up in a depressive mentality. Alas, I was simply contemplating where I was right now, and what was next for me. Whether I was on the right path, where it would lead, and when I would get there. I was too focused on my feet, on where my journey was taking me, that I temporarily forgot. I forgot to enjoy exactly where I was right now, no matter where I was going or where I had been. But thankfully, life sent me a little reminder. As I passed the upstairs window, consumed by my own thoughts, I was met by the most beautiful sunset I had seen in a long time. The sky was on fire, and it sparked a fire in me. Instantly, I knew that I wanted to seize this moment. Without a second thought, I grabbed my keys and jumped into the car. And so began my journey to chase the sunset...
