The GREATEST Night Ever.

Well hello there!

So, I'm trying to keep a little bit more up-to-date with my holiday posts...
I'll write a general update and upload some photos when I get the chance, but for now I just HAD to share our experience of the Boracay night-life the other night.

Because on Saturday, we had one of the truly most epic (ironically) nights out ever. It was honestly beyond imagination. Here's why...

We began the evening watching the sunset with daiquiris and drinking games by the hotel pool (which resulted in me being pushed in the pool, but I was too happy to care!). As the cocktails got stronger and our moods got giddier, we skipped on out on a bar crawl across the breach front bars and enjoyed all our favourite drinks at dirt cheap prices. And I'm talking like, 60p for a spirit and mixer. Insane.

After that, a stop off at my favourite bar of the whole island - Victory Divers Bar. The guys there were so cool and we had such banter. After a few drinks they had me behind the bar making my own cocktails up and serving myself and my friends whatever I wanted (free of charge, I might add). Pretty amazing huh! It goes without saying that before long, we were hammered. My cocktail making skills pretty much ended up being mixing whatever spirits I could find, and being dared to down them. Tut.

Whilst there, I was chatting with some guys who gave me a ticket to free VIP entry and free drinks to another club just down the beach. Unfortunately, I only got one ticket and didn't want to leave my friends, but we managed to get in regardless and enjoyed it for a little while, before heading to Wave Bar for some slightly more club-atmosphere drinking and dancing. I met a lovely bar-maid who was keen to know all I knew about the French language, culture, etc. We got on really well and she even sorted us out some cut-price drinks. But before long, the excitement of our final destination became too much. We could hear the booming music of some of our favourite songs, screams and shouts, and amazing lighting of Epic Beach Party just a little further along, and decided to head straight there.

On our way, I saw the singer / performer whom I had a mild crush on. She immediately recognised me, grinned and waved me over. I watched her set and she even pointed me out during her final song (I got a little excited) which just added to my evening!

But the highlight of the evening HAD to be Epic Club's beach party. Words just do not do it justice. Entry for around £3, with three free drinks vouchers included in the price (which we managed to stretch into at least five my being sly) it was great value for money. Not that it would have mattered, because honestly we would have paid a fortune for that night based on how good it was. We were at the front of the DJ set, raving along with the crowd, smoking and drinking and mine-sweeping to some truly great mixes! We also met some really great people, whose names I don't remember (sorry!) but that was cool too.

We stayed there until the heat and alcohol became too much to bear, and the night was wearing down, and then invited people back to our hotel for an after-party in our pool.

We picked up some drinks and hitched a ride, sneaking on the back of the police wagon as it patrolled the beach. After all the drinking, dancing, raving and crowds, it felt so good to strip off and jump in the pool and mess around there. The security guard later came to yell at us, but I had a few words with him and used feminine charm to prolong our fun as much as possible.

Finally, it was up to the hotel room for ice cold beers and smokes on our balcony, watching the sun rise...

The only downsides? My shoes were stolen. Oh, and Mosquito bites the next day.

Other than that, what a spectacular night. Don't you think?!

Pics below. Thanks for reading, over and out.

The Truth.

Promise me not to waste your time, or mine, with pointless pleasantries or foolish niceties. Give me the harsh, brutal, truth. Let me find comfort in the reality of your honesty, instead of numbness  in the fairy tale of your lies. I would much rather the bitter sting swallowing a harsh pill, than to choke on the sickly syrup of honeyed words.  Speak your truth.

Surviving University

Hello again my lovely readers! It's been a while since the last time I posted, so my apologies. I guess I got a little wrapped up in my own little world, and forgot the importance of taking a little time to sit down and clear your mind. Blogs are an amazingly useful tool, even for something as simple as giving you a chance to vent all those niggling thoughts in the back of your brain. It's kind of like spinning plates... You get so caught up trying to keep everything going and try so hard not to let anything fall, that you don't give yourself a chance to just be yourself. But once again, I digress. Here goes. So in the second year of university, I think the biggest thing I've learnt is what NOT to do. Unfortunately I learnt the hard way, but on the bright side, hopefully by reading this you will have the sense to avoid making the same mistakes! And although some may seem like obvious blunders, it doesn't take much to make something appear like a great idea. May...

ASIAN ADVENTURE PART II

Hello world! So it's day three of my wonderful little adventure around S.E.A (if you don't know about it, read my previous post!), and so far I've spent all the time in Saigon. I completely love it here, the city is truly alive with activity, the streets buzz with the energy of its citizens and the buildings tower with opportunity. I definitely feel at home here. But alas, here's what I've been up to! DAY 1: I finally arrived in Saigon after an exhausting 25 hours on planes and in airports! It was 9PM here and I was completely wiped-out, but desperate to get out and explore! So, after finding the Hotel, hastily showering and getting ready, I headed out to the liveliest part of the city. Here, I met a lovely bicycle taxi man who took me up to an English speaking bar which served food all night - great for me as I had avoided plane food all day! The meal only cost 65,000 Vietnamese Dong, which is around £2 GBP. As well as this, all the bars on this strip served beer...
